Anand Kirwadi
Consultant Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary UK Dr. Anand Kirwadi is a Consultant Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary. After completing his radiology training in Sheffield, he undertook fellowship training at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore in London. Prior to taking up his consultant job, he has completed European School of Radiology scholarship at Heidelberg University focusing on imaging in sports injuries and advanced techniques in Musculoskeletal imaging. He also holds European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) Diploma in Musculoskeletal imaging. His routine NHS practice at Manchester Royal Infirmary encompasses comprehensive MSK imaging across all modalities, including both diagnostic and interventional facets. . He is the lead radiologist for tertiary soft tissue sarcoma referrals and for Greater Manchester Oswestry Sarcoma (GMOSS) Service where all the tertiary care referrals for bone and soft tissue sarcoma for the north-west are discussed. His special interests include imaging in sports injuries and soft tissue sarcoma. He is a member of British Society of Skeletal Radiology (BSSR), European society of musculoskeletal society (ESSR), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). He is a council member on the Imaging Section at the Manchester Medical Society and has been appointed as a Specialist Adviser to NICE’s Interventional Procedures Programme. He is a faculty member on a number of radiology courses and has keen interest in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching as well as lecturing in the UK and abroad. He was directly involved in Royal College of Radiology project Making Best Use of Radiologist. He has published articles, written chapters for textbooks and reviewed articles for Clinical Radiology journal. He is actively involved in many research projects involving different aspects of MSK imaging.
