Clinical MR guided radiotherapy 23 Sep 2016

This video will be presented by Professor Andy Beavis who is Head of Radiation Physics at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital NHS Trust and responsible for a large group that provides the scientific and technical support for radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and radiation protection. MR guided radiotherapy provides an excellent opportunity to facilitate adaptive therapy and to take it to a level of ‘personalised medicine’. He has been following the Viewray project since its inception approximately ten years ago and has visited the majority of the early adopter sites. The View ray Meridian system is the first commercially available MR guided radiotherapy system and has been in clinical use for over 2.5 years at Washington University in St Louis, MO, USA. This video will review some clinical cases from Washington University to illustrate the efficacy of ‘on table adaption’ and the design and details of the new Meridian MR-Linac.
