Just do it all: why we cannot afford to drop any of the balls in radiology 05 May 2016

This video is intended to encourage discussion and, hopefully, some creative thinking on radiology as a clinical speciality. As demand for imaging continues to rise against a context of financial and workforce constraint, how should front-line professionals and their professional bodies be responding to ensure the highest quality of service delivery for today and the continued development of the speciality for tomorrow.

Objectives of this video are:
  • to discuss the strategic and operational pressures facing imaging services;
  • to consider the role of professional bodies in leading the development of policy and direction for the professions involved in imaging;
  • to attempt to evaluate options facing the speciality for the future.

Speaker info

Mr Richard Evans

Mr Richard Evans is Chief Executive Officer for the Society and College of Radiographers. His career has seen him connected with radiology initially as a porter, then as a neuro and cross-sectional imaging specialist radiographer before becoming a radiology directorate general manager. Famously in love with the sound of his own voice, Richard jumped at the chance to present in the excellent BIR webinar series.
