What are the differences between a manager and a leader? As a clinician in the NHS which do you aspire to be? This webinar video has discussed the reality of taking on a management position, both in Radiology and in the wider Trust environment. It covered the skills you require to succeed and how you might reorganise your job plan and life to do so. It talked about the challenges you will face as a leader and hopefully prepare you for them.

Dr Elizabeth Loney
Dr Elizabeth Loney works as a consultant radiologist and associate medical director in a large DGH in West Yorkshire. She is an elected member of the Faculty Board of the RCR, and examines for iMRCS, DDMFR and the European Diploma in Head and Neck Radiology. She is also Chair of the Head and Neck Scientific subcommittee for ECR 2021 and lectures on many head and neck topics. Elizabeth developed an interest in Leadership and Management during her time as Clinical Lead in Bradford, and has since held positions as Clinical and Divisional Director in the North East and Regional Imaging Lead. She completed a CMI Level 5 qualification in Leadership and is currently on the Nye Bevan Programme in Executive Leadership with the NHS Leadership Academy. As Chair of the new BIR Leadership and Management SIG she hopes to encourage others to consider leadership roles in Imaging and develop networks that support one another.
