Mr Steve Andrews

As an Associate Director, Mr Steve Andrews leads on the design, delivery and coordination of a wide range of leadership and management development at all levels of the organisation. He trained as a paediatric nurse and specialised in cancer care with positions at Great Ormond Street and University College London covering specialist roles in management and education as well as contributing to national initiatives as senior nurse for children and young people at UCLH. Before joining East and North Herts, he spent 17 years at UCLH and transferred from his clinical leadership role to take on a broader remit becoming the director of education programmes. Within this role, he project managed several high profile initiatives including the completion of a multi million pound Learning and Simulation Centre and, as Chief Instructor, codesigned and delivered the Senior Leadership Development programme ‘Staff College’. These initiatives won several accolades including awards for improving patient safety, excellence in education, simulation training and culture change. Mr Andrews continues to be committed to the development of people, teams and cultures and as the Associate Director for Leadership and Change at East North Herts NHS Trust, he leads a team dedicated to improving healthcare systems and culture through the learning and practice of compassionate leadership and teamwork.
