Building on the success of previous BIR IR(ME)R updates, this half-day virtual event will cover both diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy issues. The emphasis this time is on governance, audit and managing patient dose. The multi-disciplinary emphasis and value of this event is maintained as we hear about the practical administration of non-medical referrers and the latest on a national IR(ME)R audit. You can also discover what plans are in place to learn from radiation incidents and the latest thinking on patient doses.

Educational aim: To provide an insight into the continued integration of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations, (IR(ME)R), into clinical practice and to discuss the potential impact of developments in dose and optimisation on patient management.

In order to register for this event you must first create a MyBIR portal. This is a free account with the BIR which will allow you to register for events and to retrieve receipts and CPD certificates. Once this is created, you can then register onto the event. If you have registered for a BIR event in the past you can login to your account first and then click on the register now button.
