The BIR IR(ME)R update returned in-person! Building on the success of previous BIR IR(ME)R updates, this event aimed to provide an invaluable multidisciplinary forum in which to hear about current practice and the direction of flow of IRMER.

This year's aim was to set radiation safety within the wider scheme of clinical governance and ethics and to provide the latest information on the five-year review of IR(ME)R and associated guidance.

It also provided the opportunity to consider the wide-sweep of IR(ME)R, from insourcing to ‘getting it right’ and being ‘inspection-ready’ to advanced practice in radiation safety.

Educational aim:

To provide information on the changing shape of IR(ME)R and how it is to be applied in practice; including an opportunity to discuss the wider sphere of influence and involvement of IR(ME)R.
