Join UsWelcome to the BIR FRCR Part 1 Physics Preparation Course February 2026.
This is a regular event in the calendar, occurring a few weeks before the FRCR exam dates in Spring and early Summer. It aims to support radiology trainees’ understanding of physics to enable them to succeed in their FRCR physics exam and beyond. The event consists of an online mock exam and a series of online tutorials. Attendees will also be given access to recordings of tutorials from the previous event. One year membership of the BIR is included with all non-member registrations, giving trainees access to a large library of educational resources and other benefits.
As a multidisciplinary professional organisation, the BIR has established a pool of physics tutors from across the UK who have been carefully selected to meet the following criteria.
In depth knowledge of their own specialist area within the FRCR physics syllabus
Recognised expertise in explaining physics concepts from the FRCR syllabus to radiology trainees, recognising that for many trainees their most recent physics education may have been at GCSE level.
Good understanding of what radiologists need to know, both in terms of the FRCR physics syllabus and in clinical practice.
Expectations
To make the tutorials more effective, attendees are encouraged to utilise physics lectures provided to them via their local training schemes. Additionally, recorded physics lectures for London region are open access for all to view at https://radiologylearninglondon.com/
