The British Society of Head and Neck Imaging, in partnership with the British Institute of Radiology, were delighted to bring our popular Head and Neck Imaging Refresher Course back to Cardiff in February 2026.
This one-day course focused on the imaging anatomy and pathology of the oral cavity, salivary glands, orbits as well as the jaws and the dentition. The course programme put great emphasis on interactive learning, with interactive case-based workshops to complement the main lecture themes.
This course was particularly helpful for radiologists new to head and neck, or those needing a simplified approach to a complex subspecialty, to compliment revision for fellowship examinations, or to help with on call reporting.
Educational aims:
- Simplify the imaging anatomy of the oral cavity.
- Highlight radiology ‘top tips’ for when reporting oral cavity malignancy.
- Decipher the complexities of maxillofacial imaging in acute infection and trauma, as well as lesions of the jaws.
- To understand the anatomy of the salivary glands and the imaging of obstructive and non-obstructive salivary disease.
- Describe the imaging anatomy of the orbits and the different imaging appearances of orbital implants and surgical devices
- Demonstrate how to tailor orbital imaging reports to aide surgical management
